Rane Ttm 57sl Driver For Mac
Since the release of the Macbook Pro with Quadcore CPU a lot of Serato users have been experiencing different challenges with the use of their Rane products i.e the SL2, SL3, SL1, TTM 57SL, Rane 68. The challenges were basically 1. Kernel Panics (KP) if the Rane interfaces were unplugged without properly exiting Scratch Live and with the SL2 you will get a KP even when trying to exit SL 2.
Rane updates the popular TTM57SL with the new and improved TTM57SLMKII model. The MKII inherits the main features that made the original version so groundbreaking (including built-in USB soundcard and integrated Serato controls), but takes it a step further for even better performance and flawless software integration. Serato Scratch Live (SL) not recognizing these devices To anyone wondering what a KP is, its the Mac version of Blue Screen of death (BSOD) which i’m sure many Windows users are familiar with. The screen doesn’t go blue, but black with some Chinese characters written on the screen. The initial work around was to boot into 32bit with the Mac and that sorted out the issue of SL not recognizing the affected Rane products. The Kernel Panic occurs when you unplug you Rane Hardware without exiting SL and one has to do a hard restart of the mac when this happens. And this happens irrespective of which mode you are booted into. I even learnt from the Rane SL2 users that even exiting Scratch Live prior to removing the SL2 will result in the Kernel Panic so the only way out for these people is to Force Quit Scratch Live after their set in order to avoid the KP. An OSX update 10.6.8 was released a few days back by Apple and this seems to have sorted out most of these issues i mentioned.
Putty for the mac. So if you are a Serato user you should update your OSX.
Just wanted to share with fellow deejays on here. I have been running Mavericks for the longest time on my MacBook Pro (15' Late 2011) because, I was afraid to lose the ability to use my Rane TTM-57SL Mixer and Scratch Live (I still don't like SeratoDJ lol). I did some research and read a couple other post on here and on the net.
I cloned my harddrive for a backup and said screw it, lets try no MacOS Sierra. I installed Sierra from the App Store. After install complete, i tried SSL and did not recognize by 57. So then proceeded to do a couple tricks I read. 1st: Applications Folder--> Went to Scratch Live App File--> Right Click & Select Show Package Contains--> Find & Delete 'SeratoScratchDriver.kext' 2nd: Restart Mac--> While Mac is turning on, hold down the 'Command key and R' together--> Click in Utilities menu and select Terminal--> Type the following command 'csrutil disable' and press enter--> Close Terminal and Restart Mac--> Open Scratch Live, let crates load and plug in TTM-57SL mixer--> GOOD TO GO!!!
Serato Scratch Live SL Version 2.5.0 (25011) works fine for me on macOS Sierra Version 10.12 Hope this helps out any others that have this issue or are afraid to update OS. MacBook Pro 2016 Touchbar 15' OS Sierra 10.12.5 TTM 57 MK1 I just did the 2nd portion of the workaround as described by Da Magician (I have not been able to locate 'SeratoScratchDriver.kext', presumably because this computer has never been used with a 57, and therefore does not have the corresponding drivers).
