Some users in your organization might need to use their Apple ® Mac ® or Microsoft ® Windows ® machine to keep mail, calendar, and contacts up-to-date while they transition to G Suite. You can use IMAP or POP to synchronize email data. We recommend that you use IMAP—it's simpler to set up and can be used across multiple devices. You can use IMAP to sync contact and calendar data as well.

Use IMAP, CardDAV, and CalDAV to sync data Your users can sync just email. Or, they can sync contacts and calendar data as well using CardDAV and CalDAV. Important: Different mail clients use IMAP in different ways. Some clients might exceed. If you frequently reach the IMAP bandwidth or simultaneous connection limits on your Mac, try switching to another IMAP client, such as Mozilla ® Thunderbird ®. Outlook for Mac brings the familiarity of the Office suite to Mac users, however unlike its PC counterpart, it does not natively support Google app syncing. However, there is a workaround using Apple's Calendars app, which can move your Google calendars to Outlook for Mac.

These updates are currently available to our community, and we’ve been excited by the response we’ve seen. However, we still need some additional feedback before making these updates broadly available. To expand testing, Microsoft is launching a “worldwide preview” of the new Google Calendar and Contacts syncing feature for any Mac user to try. Outlook for Mac Preview is available to and will work without an Office 365 subscription. Microsoft’s Insider Fast community, for comparison, is reserved for select paid Office 365 subscribers. Microsoft says the free Outlook for Mac Preview with the new Google Calendar and Contacts features will run through June 30, 2017. The company is especially looking for testers who do not regularly use Outlook for Mac and instead rely on Google apps and services to ensure Outlook’s experience is up to par.
