Outlook For Mac Running Slow
Cannot reconnect my g suite to outlook for mac. On that same Mac I configure the Mac Mail to connect to Exchange and went OK. I configure the Outlook using the exchange connection and cannot connect, user As an FYI - If you're an Office 365 user, you can get access to Outlook 2016 for Mac which my team reports is performing well.
Outlook uses EWS so you dont need to setup send/receive schedules. We use Outlook 2016 on Mac but with Office 365 and its probably quicker that getting mail on a mobile so its not a generic issue.
Lately, Mail is slow slow slow. When I click on 'get mail', the wheel spins and spins. Eventually one of these things happens: -I get a message saying I'm 'offline' -I get a message saying something can't connect to some sort of smtp server -it spins forever and Ihave to restart the application Also, when I try to send mail, often the mail find itself in the Outbox, where it sits and sits and sits, until it finally sends after several minutes. I have a cable modem connected directly to the computer. I never had these problems with Outlook. First of all, please fill in the Operating System field on your ’s profile (and click Save). This is essential information that should always be provided when asking for help.
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list. Leave checked (enabled) only the port configuration needed to connect to Internet and Built-in Ethernet (in that order if not the same), uncheck (disable) the rest of network port configurations and see whether that helps — if it doesn’t, turn ON again the ones you want enabled. Try using a different method to connect to Internet, if possible, or connecting the computer to Internet as directly as possible (i.e. Bypassing any routers that might be present, using an ethernet cable instead of wireless, etc.), or shutting down both the computer and the router/modem used to connect to Internet, restarting, and see whether that makes a difference.
I've got the same problem. Spinning forever and then asking me to try another server. Periodically it knocks one of my accounts (it is random) completely offline and then in an hour or two puts it back on line. Right now, Gmail is receiving e-mail but it won't send.
Have deleted and re-established the account to no avail. Sometimes (not always) closing mail and then re-opening results in the e-mail sending immediately. I am about to give up on Apple Mail.Never thought I would think Microsoft would work better than an Mac application but no problems with Entourage. Do you have other mail accounts in addition to Gmail? Does the same problem happen with the other accounts as well? Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here: In Mail, open Window > Activity Viewer. What do you see Mail doing there while it spins forever?
Do you have any Mail plug-ins or system utilities that could interfere with Mail? In the Finder, go to each of the following folders (if they exist). What do you see there? /Library/StartupItems/ /Library/LaunchDaemons/ /Library/LaunchAgents/ /Library/InputManagers/ /Library/Mail/Bundles/ ~/Library/LaunchAgents/ ~/Library/InputManagers/ ~/Library/Mail/Bundles/ To make accurately reporting this information easier, you may open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal, type the following command (you can just copy it here and paste it in Terminal), and press. You can easily locate any of the folders referred to in this post by copying the folder path here, doing Go > Go to Folder in the Finder, and pasting the folder path there. Similar Problem here. Leopard installed on external FW400 drive. Complete Clean install. I imported the old mailboxes, and all my old mail was downloaded from.mac.
Also, I have not copied any applications or system stuff to this new install. The problem I am having is extremely slow send speeds when I have attachments. In the activity monitor in the mail App it jumps from 10KB/s to 30kb/s to send.
It eventually sends, but we are talking 6 minutes or so. Apple any fixes coming or suggestions Doug. Mail has not been working well since Leopard for me either. Sometimes I have to quite or force quite the application and restart it - all of a sudden mail starts sending again. When it is having trouble it pops up the box with a list of smtp URLs and asks which to use. That never helps anything. Sometimes it just spins and spins, not getting any mail.
