Hi there, I'm fairly new Enterprise Anti-Virus systems, so apologies if this is a bit of a silly question. We are looking at having Endpoint Security replace VirusScan Enterprise, Site Advisor, etc on some of our machines. However, we do have some older machines that are not supported by Endpoint Security (Server 2003, Small Business Server 2011 and so on).

With ePO, is it possible to deploy Endpoint Security to select devices and leave the legacy systems on our older servers? Or does it completely replace them? Hi Rod, Thanks for your reply. Our EPO is 5.3.2 and build 156.

The most I've really touched on with EPO is keeping an eye on machines that are not compliant with DAT and Agent versions. I haven't really fiddled about with anything else.

I do believe I saw someone from McAfee do what you were suggesting when we had an agent issue and he set up a seperate agent version under evaluation, but that was quite a while ago so I don't recall the steps, unfortunately. I think the main drive behind the move is that my manager sees it as a free upgrade. And from what I've seen of it, it seems a lot more streamlined than our current setup, faster response times and the improved scanning performances.

Those are the main reasons that we are looking at going with Endpoint Security. It's a lot, I may have missed something or I may not have it 100% documented well, but see how you go. This assumes you have the rights to do all this, either by explicit permissions or by being a global admin. Import the package Click the menu icon, software manager, look under not checked in/licensed and find endpoint security 10.5, check in the packages you want along with the extensions and help files. To configure it Go to policy catalogue and configure the settings as you desire (you’ll need to test it on a few machines over a period of time and tweak it as needed). Create a deployment task Go to the menu, choose client task catalogue, under McAfee Agent, select product deployment. New task > Product deployment > name it (Endpoint 10 (or whatever you like, so long as you know what it is)) complete the description to remind you. Leave them as install and current/evaluation depending on how you checked them in. Select McAfee agent, product deployment, product name from the last step, and press run task now – this will deploy your selected packages to the target test machine. Be sure to test it thoroughly, tweak settings as needed before sending it out to more – make sure you test with more, slowly until you are happy. This is a rough guide and how you configure it is up to you. Be sure to TEST the product on a range of machines before going live, this is something you need to focus on, it is quite different from previous versions.
